Shāfiʿite legal compendium which Sirāj al-Dīn al-Bulqīnī finished only up to kitāb
al-riḍāʿ. His son later completed his father's work. Our copy contains the kitāb aṭ-ṭahāra
up to the beginning of the kitāb al-riḍāʿ.
Leather binding with fore-edge flap and envelope flap; spine, fore-edge flap and parts
of the covers have been renewed; central ornament of the covers: circle filled with
a twelve-pointed star which consists of a six-pointed star and two triangles, gold
dots covered by half-moons at the periphery of the circle and light beams between
the junctures, bevelled corners are decorated with rosette stamps and three circles;
envelope flap is decorated with two interlaced semicircles which feature an inner
and an outer eight-pointed star in the middle; the inner star and the semicircles
are ornamented with rosette stamps; frame border consists of quatrefoils filled with
foliage; doublures made of paper pasteboard
